Strains | Schizosaccharomyces pombe 972h-(ATCC 24843) |
Genotype | Wild type. |
Culture medium | For growth on glycerol/acetate mixtures, a minimal media was used consisting of glycerol, 9.3 g/L; sodium acetate, 4.1 g/L; NH4SO4,15.0 g/L; KH2PO4, 11.0 g/L; MgCl2, 1.0 g/L; NaCl,1.0 g/L; and CaCl2, 14.0 mg/L. Vitamins and minerals were added to the following final concentrations: calcium pantothenate, 1.0 mg/L; nicotinic acid, 10.0 mg/L; myoinositol, 10.0 mg/L; pyridoxine, 0.5 mg/L; biotin,0.01 mg/L; FeSO4, 0.7 mg/L; ZnSO4, 0.8 mg/L;MnSO4, 0.8 mg/L; boric acid, 1.0 mg/L; CoCl2, 1.0 mg/L; NaMoO4, 5.0 mg/L; potassium iodide, 2.0 mg/L;and CuSO4, 0.08 mg/L. The pH of the media was set to 5.5. For chemostat cultivations on glucose, a previously described medium was used. |
